Welcome
to the DesignerWarp pages. This is a completely new and unique warping
tool assisting for mathematically precise yet organic fitting of bitmap images
into the user-defined contours. Previously unachievable artistic effects, featuring
image textures 'flowing' and responding to the boundaries of a contour, are
easily produced with the DesignerWarp's sophisticated, proprietary shape-tracing,
geometry-building and rendering engines. The plugin's user interface is simple
to use, yet allowing for detailed control on the output effect.
This tool is implemented as a dual-platform plug-in built upon
the same code: one version for Adobe Photoshop-compatible hosts, and another
one - for the trueSpace 3D modeling and rendering program, both running on the
Windows platform (up to the XP version of it).
Note: the actual development of the plug-ins was finished in 1999; these pages refer to the software and Internet environment of that time. Correspondingly, many companies, software tools and web-sites mentioned on these pages, could be no longer available. Before public release of this software in the early 2008, the Photoshop DesignerWarp plug-in has been re-built successfully and found to be working well under the latest versions of the host software, such as Photoshop of the CS suite and Corel Photo-paint of the X3 release. The trueSpace counterpart, however. was created for the version 4 of the host; most likely, it won't be compatible with the later versions of trueSpace, as Caligari have changed (again) their extensions API specs since then.

Downloading of the software
All the DesignerWarp package contents (online reference, tutorials and the
gallery) is accessible via the web, if you follow the above links, so there
is no need to download the whole zip file, if you feel comfortable enough to
work online with the contents. The only thing you need in that case is the plugin
file itself (choose one of two or both from below, download it, unzip into the
host's plug-ins directory and start using it).
